Mika and Bot Animation Sequence

Introducing Mika and Bot, the determined duo that thrives on teamwork and won't let any challenge defeat them!

This is my animation submission page for the Grads in Games Search For A Star competition. I've really enjoyed taking part in this competition, if anything it's helped me to improve my animation skills and understand more of the games animation process. I've had a lot of fun animating with this rig and I'm happy that from doing this project that I have a nice piece of animation I can be proud to put on my showreel!

The trailer on this page is a cinematic version of my sequence but there is also a Sketchfab of the full sequence along with front and side views as well as an alternate sequence to show clean transitions between states.

Backstory:

Mika is constantly undermined because she lacks the physical power that her other teammates have but is very strong minded, smart and ambitious. She knew she could never match her other teammate’s physical strength, so she made Bot - a sidekick to assist her in battle. She is very close with Bot, much like Alyx Vance and Dog in Half Life 2; she is resourceful and determined and (when not in battle) very cheerful and light-hearted.
